MKM owner Michal Kozlowski and his strong team have worked hard to build an enviable reputation, and they’re committed to giving clients the very latest advice on coatings. That’s why DuSpec+ is such an important part of the business. Michal uses the many features of this tool to research coatings products and systems, and to build out professional project proposals.

“Attaching the DuSpec+ project specification to my client’s proposals makes them look so much more professional,” Michal says. “Even if my clients don’t read all the information straight away, they can always refer to it down the line if needed.

“A lot of clients are price-sensitive, so the detailed specification allows me to explain the importance of preparing the substrate properly and the role of each coating.”

Michal doesn’t need to prepare each project specification from scratch because he simply logs in to DuSpec+, retrieves his profile, selects a previous project similar to the one he is quoting, and adapts it to suit. He has more than 60 projects stored for all different types of substrates and projects. He finds the interface very easy to use, and not just because he has an IT background!

With his lengthy experience in the field, Michal’s product knowledge is impressive. However, he will still call on his Dulux Trade rep when he needs clarification on products and coating choices.

“Hotels and stratas often need quick solutions, so I need to know if fast-drying products will work together and if they’re suitable for the substrate. I’m always interested in trying new products when they’re launched – MKM Projects is also part of the Dulux product testing program.”

A stable, secure business

MKM Projects has many long-standing contracts with apartment complexes and shopping centres, some nearing the 20 years he has been in business.

“Some residents and shop owners know us by name, and we always have a chat and sometimes a coffee when we’re on site. It’s one of the nicest parts of my job,” Michal says.
